THE OPTOPGAIT DIFFERENCE
The Albionrundoctor.com Running & Performance Lab is the only facility in the State of Michigan that possesses the OPTOGAIT analysis system. Where most gait analysis systems use high speed cameras to break down your gait cycle, allowing the interpreter to make recommendations from what he visually sees taking place from a biomechanical stand point. They may have a system that measures the degrees your joints go through. However, the OPTOGAIT is the only system that does all those mentioned functions, but... also measures step length, stride length, stance phase, swing phase, single support, double support, load responses, preswing, step time, step cadence and gait cycles per second. This comparison is done individually and comparing both the right and left legs.
Adding performances test like the “five dot drill protocol”, “drift protocol” and “GG protocol” allows us to evaluate an athlete’s dynamic stability, agility and quickness.
Our total package includes:
- Postural Examination: designed to identify postural distortions that can affect health
- Muscle Testing: of core muscles and lower extremities to identify weak muscles that affect posture and normal movement patterns.
- Functional Examination: designed to identify asymmetry and abnormal muscle recruitment
- Foot Scan: maps structural asymmetry of the foot’s 3 arches that can affect normal foot movement that can affect posture and weight distribution.
- Video Analysis: thorough analysis of your complete gait cycle identifying abnormal stress angles and swing patterns.
- Performance Testing: measures dynamic stability, power, reaction time, quickness and fatigability. All major bookmarks to help improve athletic performance and reduce injuries.
- Data Report: precise written report measuring asymmetries between the right and left sides during stride length, step length, stance phase, swing phase, single support, double support, load responses, preswing, step time, step cadence and gait cycles per second.
No other gait analysis or performance measure device can do what the OPTOGAIT system of analysis does. This provides the interpreter valuable information on improving an athlete’s performance in all phases of competition and maybe even more importantly, identifies possible weakness that can lead to injury, resulting in decreased or lost athletic performance and participation.
